Griffith University Following two years in the offshore oil industry, Guy Lane studied a Bachelor of Environmental Science with Honours at Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (1993 to 1998). Guy took three majors: - Environmental Planning - Environmental Policy - Anthropology In his honours year, he studied Environmental Policy and Environmental Economics and wrote a thesis paper: Environmental Management of Offshore Seismic Exploration in southeast Asian Waters.

James Cook University In 1999, Guy commenced a Graduate Diploma in Marine Science at James Cook University (JCU) in Townsville. He sat one subject, Fisheries Science, and then went on to work with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority in their GIS department. Later, Guy took a special subject in economics at JCU on Natural Capitalism. |

Queensland University of Technology Between 2015 and 2022, Guy studied a Masters of Business at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. Guy began the masters majoring in finance, and later changed this to philanthropy & non-profit studies. Coursework included:
Doing the masters was a great experience, but Guy came away from the process deeply disappointed that not once in the program did anyone mention the climate and ecological crisis. One of the executives at the QUT Business School told him, “If you want to learn about sustainable business, go to Griffith University.” True story. |

Landmark Forum In 2005 Guy attended the Landmark Forum in Sydney, a three-day intensive personal development program that has been running in one form or another since the 1970s. A month later, Guy returned to Sydney to attend the Landmark Advanced course. And in 2010, Guy did the Landmark Forum again. The Landmark forum is part of the appropriately named Curriculum for Living and offers a powerful suite of tools to help in personal direction-finding, communication and truth-seeking. |

Propaganda & Disinformation (pend) Understand how manipulative propaganda and new technologies can be used to influence our world. This course is designed for citizens wanting to understand more about propaganda, its history, and how to recognize and avoid ‘fake news’ and tactics of deliberate manipulation. It will also introduce new techniques used by advertisers and how private data can be used in misleading contemporary campaigns and for targeting propaganda in the democratic process. Delivered by Dr. Emma L Briant, a scholar who researches contemporary propaganda and information warfare, and its governance in an age of mass-surveillance. |
